Reading
Enlighten by S provides one-on-one reading intervention services for students in grades K–8. We utilize the evidence-based Orton-Gillingham approach, known for its explicit, systematic, and sequential instruction. Our individualized lessons are designed for students who struggle with reading and target essential literacy skills such as phonological awareness, phonics, spelling, morphology, fluency, and reading comprehension. Each session is thoughtfully crafted to keep students engaged while building foundational reading skills that lead to meaningful progress.This approach not only boosts academic performance—it also nurtures confidence and fosters a genuine love for reading.
Writing
We offer focused writing instruction tailored to each student’s unique needs. Using a combination of multi-sensory techniques and data-informed strategies, we provide targeted interventions that support skill development in all areas of writing. These may include structured feedback, sentence starters, and graphic organizers to help students organize and express their ideas with clarity and confidence.
Math
Our multi-sensory approach combines clear, direct teaching with targeted interventions that are specifically tailored to support individual learning goals. This method incorporates repetitive practice, math manipulatives, visual aids, and cyclical review to reinforce math computation and problem-solving skills.
By creating a nurturing and supportive learning environment, and applying evidence-based practices, we work to build both confidence and proficiency in every student’s math journey.
Our Team
Sophia Supelak is a licensed Intervention Specialist, specializing in grades K-8, with four years of enriching teaching experience in Catholic schools. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from the University of Dayton and is trained in Orton-Gillingham through the Children’s Dyslexia Center, an institution accredited by the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC).
Sophia has a particular enthusiasm for teaching literacy and math to students in grades K-4. She takes great pride in helping her students build the skills they need to excel academically. Her greatest reward comes from watching her students grow, gain confidence, and thrive by mastering new concepts and tools.
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Sophia now resides in Grove City with her husband and their energetic dog, Kip. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones, indulging in reading, traveling, and exploring the outdoors. When she's not working, you’ll often find her unwinding with a good book or catching up on her favorite TV shows.
